HOSPICE EDUCATION INSTITUTE
The Hospice
Education Institute is an independent, non-profit
organization serving the hospice and palliative care
community nationally and internationally; all health and
caring professionals who care for the dying and the
bereaved in any setting; and members of the general
public who need help in coping with end-of-life issues,
and in caring for the dying and the bereaved.
Based in the United States
of America, the Hospice Education Institute works to
encourage and improve the national and international
exchange of multi-professional education and information
about hospice and palliative care, including bereavement
support.
In the U.S.A. the Hospice
Education Institute offers a wide variety of different
programmes and services, including HOSPICELINK, a
nationwide free telephone service for information about
end-of-life issues; patient and family support and
advice; and referrals to local hospices and palliative
care units.
SEMINAR VENUE
In 2009, the Hospice &
Palliative Care Study Seminar in Britain will meet as
before at the King's Fund in Cavendish Square, London.
King Edward's Hospital Fund for London (King's Fund)
was founded in 1897 by King Edward VII (then Prince of
Wales) as a charity to help London's hospitals. Today,
under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, and the
presidency of HRH The Prince of Wales, the King's Fund
is Britain's leading institution for the study of
health care policy.
